My {UN}Word for 2014

by Kimbrough

One of my favorite bloggers, Edie from Life in Grace, challenged her readers to adopt an un-word for 2014. These should be words we want to take out of our life. They can be actions that steal our joy or things that come between us and the life we really want to live.

What a great challenge as I start my own blog! I have been thinking about starting this for a really long time, but I have been too afraid. What if it’s dumb? What if no one reads it? What if, what if, what if? A couple of weeks ago, I came across a quote about how if something has been on your mind for awhile, then you probably need to do something about it. So here I am.

 {UN}afraid.

Won’t you join me?

Check out where other inspiring people are sharing their {UN}Words. Maybe you will pick an {UN}Word, too. If so, share it below in the comments.

Kim, congrats on being {UN}afraid. I found you through one of the other UNword posts. I hope you find joy, and fulfillment in the process. Look forward to seeing more from you.

Hi Kim...this is my (UN)word also! We can be (Un) Afraid together! Love this concept, and needed to participate. I am new to blogging also, and face the same fears you do. But I think other people want to hear from real, just plain people going through life as everyone else does! So what if people think it's dumb. If we are doing what we have been laid on our hearts to dream and do, let's go for it! ;)

Being un-afraid is difficult. That is my (un) word for 2014 as well. I started a blog several years ago and I never made time to write and post pictures. I never told anyone that I even had a blog because I was so afraid of people judging me. I was more afraid of what people thought than being true to myself. Since I am now trying to be un-afraid, and really put myself out there, I now have a Face book page called "Preparing for Life". Now I have really set myself up for judgement but I really dont care. Maybe my "UN" word should be something else but I think un-afraid really sets me up for being un-afraid of more than just judgement.
