Kiwi Gin Sours

Ingredients

Simple syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

Kiwi Gin Sours

  • Kiwi fruit 3-4 peeled and chopped
  • 2 ounces Simple syrup
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 4 ounces Gin
  • 1 Egg white optional
  • Kiwi slices for garnish

Instructions

To make simple syrup

  • Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer until all of the sugar is dissolved. Cool to room temperature.

To make 2 coctails

  • Puree kiwi and 2 ounces of simple syrup.
  • In a cocktail shaker combine kiwi mixture, lemon juice, gin and egg white (if using). Do not add ice.
  • Shake vigorously for at least 15 seconds.
  • Add ice to shaker and then shake again.
  • Strain into chilled, ice-filled rock glasses.
  • Squeeze a small bit of lemon juice over the top and then garnish with kiwi slices
