30 Minute Sesame Beef Stir Fry

Stir-fry is one of those go-to weeknight meals. It packs a punch because it’s quick AND is full of veggies. This recipe for 30 Minute Sesame Beef Stir Fry is almost the perfect stir-fry. When you buy pre-sliced, pre-shredded ingredients like Mann’s Organic Super Blend, you save a ton of prep time. And who doesn’t love the flavors of soy, sesame and ginger.

What cuts of beef are best for stir fry?

Most of the time, I can find packages of pre-cut beef labeled specifically for stir fry at my local grocery store. When those aren’t available, I generally pick skirt steak, flank steak, top round or sirloin. If you have to slice your own beef, you will want to slice against the grain of the meat. This helps make the meat more tender. Slicing it before you cook it also makes it cook faster.

I find that if I partially freeze the beef before I cut it, it’s so much easier to slice.  Hopefully, you can find it ore-sliced though!

 

How to make 30 Minute Sesame Beef Stir Fry:

First, you will want to have all of your ingredients prepped and ready to cook. This is why I love using Mann’s Organic Super Blend. It’s already washed and shredded. I also buy pre-sliced mushrooms and beef. Then all I have to do is make the sauce, slice up some onion, red bell pepper and green onion.

 

 

Once you have everything ready to cook, get your skillet or wok SUPER hot. Cook everything in small batches. I add a small bit of sesame oil to the pan . and cook the veggies first, starting with the onion and bell pepper. Then, I remove those once they are tender but still crisp. I like my stir-fry veggies to have a bite to them. I sauté the mushrooms next and then scoop them out of the pan.

Next, I toss in the Mann’s Super Blend and cook for just a few minutes. I remove that from the pan and wipe the pan out. Last, I cook the meat in a couple of teaspoons of sesame oil. I let it cook for 2-3 minutes. I add all the veggies back in the pan with the meat. Finally, I pour in the sauce and cook until it’s thickened up just a bit.

I generally serve this stir fry with cooked Jasmine rice. You can get that started before you start making the stir fry and everything will be ready around the same time. I like to add sliced green onion and cilantro to garnish. Then, BAM, dinner is served.

Ingredients

Ingredients for the sauce

  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 TBSP rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 TBSP cornstarch
  • 2 tsp agave nectar

Ingredients for the stir fry

  • Sesame oil for cooking
  • 1.5 lbs sliced beef
  • 1 small onion roughly chopped
  • 1 medium red bell pepper seeded and sliced finely
  • 8 oz mushrooms sliced
  • 1 8.5 oz bag Mann's Organic Super Blend
  • 3-4 green onions sliced
  • cilantro
  • toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

To make the sauce

  • Whisk all ingredients together in a small bowl. Set aside.

To make the stir fry

  • Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add a small bit of sesame oil to the pan. Cook the onion and bell pepper until crisp tender. Then, remove from pan.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan and sauté until cooked. Remove the mushrooms from the skillet.
  • Toss in the Mann's Super Blend and cook for just a few minutes. Remove from the pan and wipe the pan out.
  • Add in a couple of teaspoons of sesame oil. Then add in the beef. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add all the veggies back in to the pan with the meat.
  • Finally, pour in the sauce and cook, stirring the beef and veggies until the sauce is thickened up just a bit.
  • Serve this stir fry with cooked Jasmine rice. Add sliced green onion, cilantro and sesame seeds to garnish.
