Homemade Pizza: It’s All in the Crust

by Kimbrough

There is one dinner that everyone in my family can agree on: Pizza. We like take out pizza, dine in pizza and lately, homemade pizza. We don’t all agree on toppings, but we all LOVE pizza. Making it at home means that we don’t have to argue over toppings. We don’t have to concede our pepperoni and banana peppers to those who only eat cheese. We don’t have to pick the onions and the peppers off. We can customize our pizzas according to what we have on hand and what we like.

Sure, it takes a little planning to make the dough in time to rise, but the wait it so worth it. I have tried a ton of dough recipes. Recently, I tried this crust recipe from Edie over at Life in Grace. It is delicious and so simple!

Go on over there and follow her recipe. She’s very thorough. Once you have the dough rising, you can contemplate the toppings. My usual is basil and fresh tomato. We had neither of these tonight so I just used spinach and cheese. I bought some nice, jarred marinara to use for the sauce.

That was fine for the hubby, but the boys were are little trickier. One likes just cheese and the other two love pepperoni.

I  made two batches of the crust recipe (we have two teen boys!) and divided them to make four medium pizzas. I made one with spinach and cheese, one with pepperoni and cheese, one with just cheese and one with half cheese and half pepperoni. Everyone was happy!
